Orange wine is a new addition to our cellar. It's a white grape variety vinified like a red wine. 51Pegasi is made from pinot gris and owes its magnificent blood-orange colour to several days' fermentation with its skins. A lively, slightly carbonated terrace wine with a subtle strawberry aroma, it's an ideal companion for a “Happy Time” aperitif with friends.
Made for the first time in 2019, our 51Pegasi orange wine is a flamboyant tribute to the two astrophysicists Michel Mayor and Didier Queloz, who were awarded the 2019 Nobel Prize in Physics for their discovery of the first planet outside our solar system.
Located in the 51Pegasi system, this exoplanet alone represents a revolution in our understanding of the Universe. ‘The gigantic theoretical number of planetary systems (estimated at tens of billions) allows astrophysicists to believe in the existence of other worlds evolving in conditions favourable to the emergence of life. ’*
Setting off to discover a new world and dreaming of better times... during this period of lockdown... it was just a short step, or rather a short flight!
The label has been specially designed for the occasion, featuring an original drawing by comic artist Lauren Mattson.
cheers and enjoy it!
